Finding My Travel Partner

Updated: Dec 3, 2018

In the beginning I had to find my bestie...here is the story.

Two unprepared Texans in the snow!

I’ll start at the beginning. I met my husband in college (Texas Woman’s University of all places) and we were both studying design. We are both former Psychological Operations Specialist for the U.S. Army, although we never met while we were in the service. We were even deployed to the same place, unfortunately it was about 2 years apart. Meant to be right? Wait, it gets better…once we got married our initials became the same! I couldn’t make this stuff up. The night we started dating I said, “All you have to do is be my best friend and be willing to go on adventures with me.” He agreed and we were engaged three months (and numerous adventures) later!

“It doesn't matter where you are going, it is who you have beside you.” -anonymous

Since Kevin and I are both graphic designers one thing we like to do is Photoshop our wedding photos (taken by Alex Cross Photography in Katy, TX) onto photos we took of our travels. If I’m only going to wear my wedding dress once, I want it to be seen. So instead of lugging it out everywhere and pretending I don’t drip sweat on every hike, we just Photoshop. Here are some of our faves!
